Working to Prevent Domestic Violence

The Montgomery County Council, trying to bring attention to the issue of domestic violence, on Oct. 21 proclaimed October as “Domestic Violence Prevention Month.” Studies suggest that between 3.3 and 10 million children nationally witness some form of domestic violence annually. Presenting the proclamation on behalf of the Council are Councilmembers Duchy Trachtenberg, left, and Phil Andrews, right. Accepting the proclamation is Carole Alexander, director of the House Of Ruth Maryland.
