Advocacy
We do what we must because batterers still do as they choose -- controlling their partners with rage, taunts, threats, fists, force, knives and guns. They emotionally and physically wound, rape and murder their girlfriends, wives, children and their partners.
Offering comprehensive, far-reaching services for nearly three decades, The House Of Ruth Maryland never closes. We are always here for victims of domestic violence, their children, family, friends, workplaces, schools and our communities.
- We know that prevention is key so we are tearing away at the walls of secrecy through outreach, education and training.
- We know that early intervention saves lives; through crisis response and triage, we ensure that victims in imminent danger receive services and shelter immediately.
- We are committed to changing attitudes and beliefs about domestic violence through advocacy for system's change. We stand up when others stand down.
