Hotline News:

Hotline Training -- The next hotline training will be held on Saturday, February 9 and Sunday, February 10. Participants are required to attend the two-day training, as well as 4 hours on-the-phone training at a later date. Please contact Tina Gauth at (410) 554-8493 or tgauth@hruthmd.org for more information or to reserve your spot.

Hours of Service -- In May 2007, hotline volunteers and interns completed approximately 528 hours of service. Way to go!

Police Risk Assessment Pilot -- We are continuing the project indefinitely, with possible expansion city-wide. Dorothy Hwang, our Police Advocate, continues to work with the police around more consistent implementation of the lethality assessment.

Agency Statistics -- We've finished compiling the statistics for the agency for fiscal year 2006 (July 1, 2005 - June 30, 2006)...some highlights are below:

  • We served 12,595 victims, children, teens, men, friends and family last year (12% more than the previous year). That includes:
    - 7,744 victims
    - 782 teens
    - 290 children (Community-based therapeutic services only)
    - 3,263 friends, family and professionals (I&R calls)
    - 516 male abusers and 77 domestically violent women
  • The hotline recorded 5,111 calls (63% were from victims). (Our phone software tells us that we actually receive 2-3 times this many calls to the hotline. Please continue to fill out and turn in call reports for ALL calls.)
